Startups are Jumping into the NFT Field

Non-fungible tokens (NFTs), which have recently attracted attention, are emerging as a major business item among startups. NFTs are digital assets that guarantee ownership by generating data, such as purchaser information, via blockchain technology.

On the 3rd of this month, the music content startup Number Song Company signed a business agreement with PlayDapp, a blockchain company, about NFTs. The two companies plan to cooperate on an NFT platform service business and collaborate to develop content technology for a metaverse platform. Number Song Company provides self-produced sound sources and video content. PlayDapp will support a service that verifies IP (intellectual property) with NFTs and a system for NFT transactions. Number Song Company plans to transparently distribute profits from various music sources and content to investors using NFTs. Kim Hee-bin, CEO of Number Song Company, said, “We will prove our unique content competitiveness in the NFT market.”

People’s Tech, which operates a blockchain-based residential service platform ‘AZIT’, recently decided to join hands with Rubicons, which owns the fashion brand ‘Blue Tambourine’, in the NFT business. The two companies are developing NFT blockchain technology to prevent forgery and falsification of clothing products.

Blue Tambourine will unveil products incorporating this technology for the first time at New York Fashion Week, one of the largest fashion events in the world, on the 11th of this month. NFTs issued to fashion products are used to guarantee authenticity and ownership. They also contain various information about the product, such as the material of the product, the manufacturing process, and the design history.

Afun Interactive, a startup specializing in 3D, stereoscopic image content, also recently started an NFT business. Through Binance, the world’s largest cryptocurrency exchange, an NFT card of the character ‘Apokey’ will be released on the 10th of September.
